Seizure at Pakhoi by the 4th Army of a Russian Warship while

conveying a supply of arms & ammunition to the Peasants' Corps.

The Warship has been taken to Canton.

(From our own correspondent Leung)

The Russian Borodin has directed the Communists

in China and the reactionaries of the Kuomintang to over- thow Cheung Kei Shek and his followers, so that he can

put into practice the full communist programme. Besides

directing the Hankow Clique to do us all sorts of injury

he has spared no effort to cause us damage in Kwongtung-

Upon inquiry we find that his policy for doing

us harm is to support the Peasants' Corps, local bandits,

and Communist workmen to overthrow the present Goverment

by force of arms. It was arranged that all arms and ammunition required should be supplied from Russia and Hankow. Pang Pai, leader of the Peasants' Corps, and

Tai Cheuk Man, Li Sham, and Lau Yi Sung, leaders of the

labouring classes, have been appointed to take charge of this enterprise. Some days before the expulsion of the Communists, a Russian warship was found entering

Swatow with a large shipment of arms and amunition for the Peasants' Corps in the Eastern Region. At the same

time a Russian warship was seized at Pakhoi by the Army of Defence (the 4th Army), having on board a large con- sigment of arms and ammunition.

Un inquiry those on board stated that the arms and ammunition were to be conveyed to the Eastern and Northern Regions to supply the Peasants' Corps there.

The ship together with the arms and ammunition has been taken to Canton pending their disposal.
